Amazon Summary:

Can true love be forgotten?
As the only scion who can descend into the Underworld, Helen Hamilton has been given a nearly impossible task. By night she wanders through Hades, trying to stop the endless cycle of revenge that has cursed her family. By day she struggles to overcome the fatigue that is rapidly eroding her sanity. Without Lucas by her side, Helen is not sure she has the strength to go on.
Just as Helen is pushed to her breaking point, a mysterious new Scion comes to her rescue. Funny and brave, Orion shields her from the dangers of the Underworld. But time is running out—a ruthless foe plots against them, and the Furies' cry for blood is growing louder.
As the ancient Greek world collides with the mortal one, Helen's sheltered life on Nantucket descends into chaos. But the hardest task of all will be forgetting Lucas Delos.
Josephine Angelini's compelling saga becomes ever more intricate and spellbinding as an unforgettable love triangle emerges and the eternal cycle of revenge intensifies. Eagerly awaited, this sequel to the internationally bestselling Starcrossed delivers a gritty, action-packed love story that exceeds all expectations.

My Thoughts:

This book was just as good as the first and I think I enjoyed it even more so because of the all the action and how much you learn about the world of the scions and Greek mythology. I was on the edge of my seat the whole entire time I was reading this book and I became so attached to all of the characters and was feeling everything they felt right along with them.

Helen is descending every night when she goes to sleep into the Underworld, she is trying to find a way to free the furies so that her and her fellow scions can live in peace with each other. She is having to deal with everything she is going through completely alone. There is nobody in her life that can understand what she is going through and what she has to do, she has such a feeling of responsibility resting on her, everyone is counting on her to be able to complete this task and it taking every ounce of Helen's strength to get through it all. but, then she meets a mysterious boy in the underworld who was sent to help Helen along her way. Orion and Helen begin to have a confusing relationship and I did not like him from the very start, maybe because I have always been Team Lucas but, I just could not get into the whole love triangle because I couldn't understand why she liked him. I felt like it was easy for her to fall for Orion because he was with her on this amazing  quest and the only person who could help her so that fact that she was having feelings for him was just too easy.

I loved how much more about Greek mythology is revealed in this book and also new powers that we realize some of the characters never knew they possessed. This book was so action packed and it definitely kept me wanting to read it into the wee hours of the night. I was a little bit surprised by the ending but, I am dying to know what is going to happen next in their world I can't wait for the next book!

Overall, I loved this book probably even more then I did the first because I felt like I really knew all of the characters and it was like reading about a bunch of old friends and I enjoyed every bit of it. If you liked starcrossed then I think you will definitely like dreamless, action and greek mythology, love triangles, what more could a girl want in a book! Check it out on May 29th!

Happy Reading!
Kristin

  8. An excellent continuation of the Starcrossed saga. Not only are the original characters given an opportunity for more depth and complexity, but the plot unfolds beautifully. I felt that the book was complete, and still there was a lot of material left for the third installment. I can't wait!
