Goodreads Summary:
Just your average
boy-meets-girl, girl-kills-people story...
Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.
So did his father before him, until his gruesome murder by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father’s mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping pesky things like the future and friends at bay.
When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas doesn’t expect anything outside of the ordinary: move, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he’s never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, but now stained red and dripping blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home. And she, for whatever reason, spares his life.

My Thoughts on the
Narration:
This is the first audio book I have ever listened to so, I
don't have anything to compare August Ross to but, I really enjoyed listening
to him. His voices for each character were done fairly well including his
voices for the female characters which were entertaining to listen too.
My Thoughts on the
Book:
I really enjoyed reading this one, Kendare Blake does an
amazing job of combining the romance and the horror together to make an amazing
story. The mixture of the two genre's I really liked because it kept me interested
in the story considering I am not usually a fan of horror books.
I am always really excited to read a book when I find out
that the main character is male. There is not many of them out there in the YA
genre and it's always fun to be inside a boy's head especially Theseus Cassio
Lowood. I absolutely loved his name it is so epic and memorable and I know that
no matter how many books I read I will remember his name because it was so
different. but, he likes to be called Cass. When I first read the summary for
Anna Dressed In Blood I immediately thought this book would be the YA version
of the television show Supernatural. It
was the same basic idea, Cass is not just your average teenager he is a ghost
hunter, he travels all over hunting down ghosts with his mom. He was such an awesome character, he was so tough, snarky,
and sarcastic that throughout the story I couldn't help but smile at so many of
the things he said because he was such a smart ass. When he arrives in newest
town to kill his latest ghost Anna Dressed In Blood, Cass has no idea the
adventure that he is in for.
There was so many parts of this book that I cringed at when
I thought about ghosts and when I thought about Anna. She was stronger than any
other ghost Cass had ever faced and it definitely showed when he came after
her. but, Cass finds out so many things about Anna throughout the story that by
the end you can't help but feel for her not only as a ghost but as a person as
well.
Overall, this book was definitely a great read, with its
mixture of horror and romance it definitely keeps the reader on their toes
without being too horrifying. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good
ghost story or even enjoys watch the show Supernatural, Give this one a try and
you won't be disappointed!

I don't normally like the horror genre either, but Anna Dressed in Blood sounds like a good read. Loving the mane Theseus Cassio Lowood too!
