My Thoughts:

I absolutely loved Hysteria, I was really curious when I was going into reading this one I have heard a lot of great things about Megan Miranda's debut Fracture but, I haven't yet had a chance to read it but, I hoped that I would enjoy this one just as much and I definitely did. Hysteria is a great mix of psychological thriller and normal life, it gave me everything that I look for when I want to read a book. 

Mallory killed her somewhat boyfriend Brian, and ever since her life hasn't been the same. Everybody around her town whispers and stares when she is around and Brian's mom spends her days outside her house parked twenty feet away per restraining order. Brian is also the older brother of her former crush and lab partner Dylan, which only complicated things more. Mallory's parents decide to  send her away to a boarding school Monroe for a fresh start, Mallory has heard about Monroe all her life through her father who went to high school there and loved it. As much as Mallory doesn't want to leave her best friend Colleen, her parents are acting distant and she wants to go somewhere where everyone doesn't know her secrets. But, as Mallory arrives at Monroe she finds out that the fresh start she is looking for isn't going to come easy, people still know what happened and she really can't escape. Mallory reconnects with the son of her father's high school roommate, she used to see him three or four times a year when their fathers got together until Reid's dad passed away. Unfortunately for Mallory no matter where she goes what she did haunts her nights, creating nightmares that may or may not be real. 

While I was reading this book I kept being reminded of the Mara Dyer books which I love and it only  made me even more into reading the stuff. I was on the edge of my seat pretty much the whole entire time I was reading, my heart was pounding and I was trying to figure out what was going on, most of the time being completely wrong. Mallory and Reid's romance was an interesting aspect because it gave the book a grounding aspect and it wasn't filled with only craziness and made it that much more enjoyable. 

Overall, Miranda has created an awesome and satisfying standalone and I really enjoyed her writing I definitely want to check out Fracture now because of reading this great book and I can't wait to see what Miranda comes up with next.
