Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This week's topic is:  Top Ten Books That Were Totally Deceiving

1.  City of Bones By: Cassandra Clare, Ok so I loved this book, but the cover totally threw me for a loop lol

2. Vampire Academy By: Richelle Mead, My favorite series of all time but I don't really enjoy the covers

3. House of Night Series, I really have enjoyed most of the books in the series, but I don't really love any of the covers

4. Fallen, I loved and hated this book but, I thought the cover was so gorgeous and I was disappointed that it wasn't as good as the cover

5. Twilight, I thought the covers did not tell anyone about what the series was about at all

6. Paranormalcy, I felt the cover was way more serious then the book is, if that makes any sense lol

7. Evernight, I thought the covers for this series were just really boring and I enjoyed this series a lot

8. My Soul To Take, I just didn't think this book cover gave this awesome story justice

9. Shiver, I really loved the covers for this series, but for me I just couldn't get into the series and I didn't end up finishing it

10. The Lovely Bones, I thought this cover didn't really go as much with the book as I would have liked

  1. Great list! I am so used to the Twilight covers that I never really noticed that they're not actually vampire related! And yeah The Lovely Bones cover is a bit random!

  2. The House of Night Novels (well, Marked, anyway) was on my list, but for a completely different reason!

I agree with Vampire Academy, and with City of Bones though, even if I didn't have either of those on my own list!

  3. Totally agree with City of Bones! I passed this book a million times never knowing what the heck a book about bones would be about. Plus the cover looks nice...but it isn't Jace's story. It's Clary's. So it's all kinds of messed up.

  4. Agree, agree, agree on the Fallen books. They made our TTT, too! And I think you are right, Evie is a lot sillier than the Paranormal series book. Nice list!

  6. With the exception of #8, because I never read those, I AGREE WITH YOU COMPLETELY. Argh, some cover design studios make me so confused. :P

  10. I agree with you about the Claudia Gray covers - they're really bland aren't they? Distinctive but not at all inspiring. Fallen, too, was a disappointing book hidden inside a beautiful cover.

  11. I 100% agree with Vampire Academy, that made it on my list too :)

  12. I agree with everything here! All the covers in the Vampire Academy & House of Night are just not good. I never paid any attention to the fact that Paranormalcy's cover is more serious because I really love it's cover. :P
I don't think anyone has really paid attention to all the Twilight saga not making any sense either because they are just everywhereee.
    Great list!

  13. The Evernight covers are definitely boring. I own the first one, and am having a hard time getting to it. I'm just not feeling motivated. I'm glad you enjoyed it, though! I need to push it up on my list.

And YES. You've got to read Anna and the French Kiss. It's darling! Thanks for stopping by!

  14. I think the world agrees that the VA book covers kinda stink and do not do justice! And I feel the same way about Fallen. Wanted to love the book, all the covers are pretty, but the story was very "meh' to me.:) Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier:)

  17. I love Vampire Academy, but hated the covers! I wasn't sure about the Soul Screamers mostly based on the cover. I'm glad to see that it is awesome...I'll check it out now!

    Thanks for visiting! Following back!
